The tree planting process

Step 1
First we use the brushcutter to remove the dense grass from the planting site. We dig a hole to plant the tree taking care to ensure that the root systems of the surrounding grasses are removed before planting. Grasses and their extensive root systems inhibit the growth of young trees.

Step 2
We plant the tubestock in the soil and water it in. We then put down a layer of bark mulch. This is the most important step in the planting process. Generous mulching gives each tree the best chance of survival.

Step 3
We put a tree guard around the tubestock. The guard protects the tree while it is very young, giving it the best chance of healthy growth. After 12-18 months, we remove the guard and the tree continues to grow. During this time, we monitor the trees, and continue to mulch and remove invasive grasses as they appear.
