Trees are one of nature’s carbon heroes. They absorb CO₂, protect the soil, and support biodiversity. By planting trees, we’re investing in the health of our planet.

Driven by action

Our first project site is in western Victoria. We are currently planting trees on a block that was previously used as pasture for livestock. As the trees grow, they not only sequester carbon from the atmosphere, they also store carbon in the soil. 

Soil carbon helps to nourish the soil and retain nutrients. It also helps to ensure the productive capacity of the land. The trees create habitat and protect biodiversity, providing food sources and safe places for native animals to live. 

Each tree planted is locally-sourced and indigenous to the region. It is important that the trees thrive to ensure a higher rate of successful growth and carbon abatement. To maximise tree growth and guarantee carbon abatement, we plant four specific indigenous species; Swamp Gums, Snow Gums, Woolly Tea Trees, and Water Wattles.

Meet our Founder – Hannah

Turning passion into action

Hi, I’m Hannah - founder of Our Carbon Farm. The business first began out of a desire to be more proactive in looking after the earth. I realised that we all need to do more to protect the environment, and I knew that I couldn't wait for our leaders to step up.

So, in 2021, I created Our Carbon Farm; a grassroots project focusing on tree-planting in western Victoria. We are committed to working with individuals, communities and businesses to plant as many trees as possible.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and French Language, a Master of International Development, and a Master of Teaching, I bring a unique blend of global awareness, educational expertise, and environmental commitment to my work.

My studies and work as a teacher have provided me with an understanding of the social, economic, and political forces shaping environmental issues, as well as the tools to educate and inspire others. I envision a world where every person feels connected to the land and is able to help preserve it for future generations.
